USAG Daegu Child Supervision Guidelines & Age Matrix
Sponsors and Parents are responsible for the welfare and safety of children in the military community. The personality, environment, developmental progress, and maturity level are factors used to determining when children are ready to accomplish activities with little to no supervision. Sponsors and Parents are responsible for making this decision. The following are the community standards, applying to all military, DoD Civilians, invited Contractors personnel, and their families living on or off post.

Direct Supervision (*): Having a parent or designated caregiver physically present with child or within immediate distance and available to respond to the child's need.
Indirect Supervision (**): Parent or designated caregiver is not in the same room, area or unable to hear or see child directly but still able to monitor the child's safety.
Immediate Access (+): Parent or caregiver is within physical eyesight, e.g. at the playground, dark, etc. and within hearing distance and available to respond in 60 seconds.
Ready Access (++): At a minimum, telephone access and telephone number of each person designated as adult supervision, e.g., a parent, guardian, babysitter, care provider, or friend, etc. Ready Access can be accomplished with a cell phone. Must be 30 minutes or less to respond to the child in crisis.
